Airsoft Canada

Ad Guidelines

To keep the Marketplace safe, trustworthy and useful, every ad has to follow these guidelines. Ads that don't may be rejected, edited or removed.

What can be listed

  • Airsoft guns and related gear only. BB, pellet and air guns are not permitted, and neither is paintball equipment.
  • The item must be airsoft-related and legal to sell in Canada.
  • Ads must be accurate, honest and complete, written in English, with clear, readable descriptions.
  • Don't post duplicate ads for the same item. Mark your ad as sold, or remove it, as soon as the item sells or is no longer available.

A clear, accurate title

  • Say exactly what the item is, e.g. “Tokyo Marui Hi-Capa 5.1” or “Custom HPA M4 Build”.
  • No clickbait, emojis or misleading titles.

A real price

  • Every For sale ad needs a real, numeric price. “Make an offer”, “$1” or placeholder prices aren't accepted. If the item really is free, tick Free.

A detailed description

Your description must include:

  • Item condition (new, used, upgraded, refurbished, parts only…)
  • Estimated round count or use, if known
  • Any cosmetic wear, defects, repairs or known issues
  • What's included (magazines, batteries, case, charger…)
  • Performance details (FPS, joules, hop-up type, upgrades)
  • Anything a buyer should reasonably know before committing

Payment, shipping and pickup

Every ad should say clearly:

  • Payment methods you accept (e-Transfer, PayPal, cash…), and whether you take deposits or holds
  • Whether you ship, who pays shipping, your carrier (Canada Post, UPS…), whether tracking or insurance is included, and how soon it ships
  • For local pickup: the city or town, and any limits (e.g. public meetups only)

Photos

To keep the Marketplace legitimate and protect buyers, the photo rules are strict. Photos must show the exact item you're selling, clearly and honestly. Not allowed:

  • Stock photos or manufacturer marketing images (except a business selling brand-new stock)
  • Photos taken from other websites
  • AI-generated images

A verification photo (strongly recommended)

To build trust and stop fake listings, include a handwritten note in at least one photo with your Airsoft Canada username, today's date, and “Airsoft Canada”. Place it beside or under the item so both are clearly visible. It shows the item is in your hands, stops old, stolen or stock photos, and helps your ad get approved faster. We may ask for one if anything looks suspicious.

Not allowed

An ad may be rejected or removed if it has:

  • Misleading or false statements
  • Illegal items or components
  • Very poor or unclear photos, stock images or AI-generated images
  • Offensive, abusive or inappropriate content
  • Spam, referral links or unrelated products
  • Attempts to get around these rules

Approval and moderation

  • Every ad, and every change to one, is checked against these guidelines before it goes live. Ads missing required information, or that look suspicious, may be rejected; you'll see why.
  • Members who repeatedly break the guidelines may lose the ability to post, or have their account suspended. Blatant attempts to get around them lead to the account being locked.
  • Airsoft Canada may remove any listing at any time to protect the community.

Tips for a great ad

  • Use several good photos: left, right, front and back, and close-ups of upgrades, accessories and any wear
  • Include FPS or joule readings if the item is upgraded, and say whether a chrono test is possible
  • Say whether your price is firm or negotiable, and answer messages promptly

Stay safe

  • Airsoft Canada doesn't take part in sales, so take care: use e-Transfer with caution, and meet in public places when you can.
  • Keep your conversation in Airsoft Canada messages, and don't share personal details until you need to.
  • Airsoft Canada staff will never ask for your password or payment details in a message.
  • Report suspicious members or ads straight away.
