Loadouts

Always curious about what people wear for footwear. My feet/back/knees are bad so I always spend a decent amount on footwear. I've only played indoors once and wore some Danner Resurgents that worked well - nice and light so my feet didn't bake. I also have a pair of Salomon x ultra boots that I figure would work well. What's your go to boot?

Truth be told, for indoor I have only ever worn the low cut vans, they're the only shoes I can feel somewhat comfortable running in. For any outdoor I have a pair of Kodiak boots in green that resemble the US Army ones(?) Seriously though, if they cause discomfort, get some insoles. They worked for my knees when they started hurting at work and during airsoft.

It's very much an acquired taste and requires some maintenance(polish), but I personally wear surplus Mark IV Combats with wool and liner socks, works really well outdoors with grip and strong ankle support but they're heavier and leave a bit to be desired in the comfort department.

  @fng-westpoint I wore surplus combat boots all through my punk rock teenage years. Would also shine them on the regular! Now that I'm old my feet get so hot so I opted for the Danners. Still have a roughout leather lower but have vents like jungle boots and a breathable calf section. Nothing beats the look of a nice pair of shined boots though. I always wanted a pair of Corcoran jump boots but heard the quality has downhill.

I swap between three boots usually. My Lowa Renegade II's, Issued SWAT 9" and Vietnam Jungle Boots. All depends on what the conditions are gonna be that day. The Renegade II's are by far the most comfortable though, and gortex. Never skimp out on footwear!

I wear a Jungle type combat boot. However I use goretex socks for waterproofing when the conditions are wet. People watch me walk right into ankle deep water and ask me what boots are those? When the secret is in the socks. I carry spare goretex socks so I can change them out when they start to soak through Normally takes about a day. Also allows me to stick my feet right back into the boots without needing to dry them. Been considering getting a overboot for it for when it gets really cold.

  @kingsix If you are looking into overboots, Neos are pretty fantastic. I've used mine for several years at this point on military courses and exercises both in summer and dead of winter, with my feet always staying dry!
